Room: Maryland 1 - Convention Center, Ballroom Level
Is it possible to embody freedom when social, cultural and political freedom for all has not yet been realized? This practice-based SoulWork workshop will explore how embodying freedom catalyzes creative power in the collective pursuit of liberation and social justice. "SoulWork" is a generative method for performance, training artists, engaging communities, and research that is rooted in ancestral African American theories and performance traditions. On Friday, November 17, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., join SoulWork Studio founder, Cristal Chanelle Truscott -- Northwestern University Associate Professor, 2023 United States Artists Fellow, and 2022-25 Social Practice Artist-in-Residence in Maryland 1 for a workshop to activate connections between embodiment and emancipation.

Registration for the workshop is $25 for students and $50 for other attendees.
