This panel brings together scholars from four regions of the world (the United States, Bengal, Palestine, and Brazil) to discuss the separate but related forms of structural violence, transnationally, and its impact in our discipline. Consistent with the panel's goals, it is the first panel in the history of the NCA convention to have scholars speaking in four different languages (Ambikaipaker & Kumanyika: English; Dutta: Bangla; Muhtaseb: Arabic; Moreira (Portuguese)). Panelists and attendees will access an app which produces immediate AI-based translation. It is encouraged that attendees arrive 5-10 minutes before start time, if possible, to facilitate access to the translation channel.
