This session is designed for administrators and mentors who are responsible for training and supporting new special education teachers. Presenters will demonstrate how to use the Survival Guide for New Special Education Teachers to enhance induction programs. Topics include: clarifying roles and responsibilities, creating a culture of collaboration, and developing skills to enhance new teacher competencies.

Learner Outcomes

- Have resources and information regarding building relationships to support new special education teachers throughout their first year and beyond
- Be able to share EBPs and HLPs to support new teachers in the inclusive classroom
- Be able to create and develop effective planning and supports for new teacher evaluations
- Be able to develop and implement effective collaboration supports for new special education teachers with co-teachers, paraprofessionals, general educators, families, and staff
