Abstract

*** THIS WORKSHOP REQUIRES AN ADDITIONAL REGISTRATION FEE ***

Whether teachers are veteran, novice, in preparation programs, or (gasp) learning on the job, their knowledge and implementation of key practices will determine their success and that of students. Explicit instruction (EI) is a key high-leverage and evidence-based practice that supports student learning. In this session, the presenter will introduce and model core elements of EI (modeling, guided practice, independent practice, clear language, opportunities to respond, examples, and repetition) as potentially implemented across content areas and grade levels.
